The history of the Caran d’Ache FIXPENCIL® starts in 1929 when it was invented by an engineer in Geneva. It was launched on the market one year later by Caran d’Ache and became a global success.
The FIXPENCIL® was the world’s first mechanical pencil, entirely metallic and fitted with a clutch mechanism.
